Working as part of the housekeeping team and reporting to the head of housekeeping, the domestic assistant plays a vital role in keeping the home clean and sanitised to the highest possible standard. As you will be working in the residents’ own rooms, you will need to respect their privacy but you will also have a valuable opportunity to build up close relationships with them.

To be a domestic assistant, you will need a firm understanding of infection control and its importance, the ability to work alone or as part of a team and carry out instructions accurately. Keen attention to detail and the ability to take pride in a job well done, as well as a flexible, positive and ‘can do’ attitude are also vital attributes for the role. You will receive a full induction and ongoing training thereafter to keep your knowledge and skills up to date
